About Sanyika
On March 31, 2003 I left Corporate America with a sweet severance package and a false sense of what it would mean to be my own boss. Not only was I not at all prepared for what I’d “signed up” for, but along the way I discovered that trying to manage myself and run a business was a study in contradictions; like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall – darn near impossible.
A business coach once told me, “That which is difficult to learn is easy to teach,” and a trusted mentor coined the phrase, “Turn your mess into your message,” that sage wisdom has given me the courage to embrace my mistakes, make the most of my missteps, and passionately peruse my life’s work.
Entrepreneurs – mostly coaches, authors, speakers, infopreneurs, small business owners, and closet superheros – coach with me because I’m candid yet compassionate, pleasant but persistent, and focused on getting results while still being fun to work with.
Plus, starting several businesses, never having to return to a J-O-B, and pulling in a solid six-figures as a speaker and author have taught me several inconvenient truths about what it really takes to succeed that I openly share with my clients as a business consultant.
Giving the speech of your life and forgetting to make an offer about your book is great for your ego but lousy for your bank account.
And, appearing on TV more than 200 times has placed me in the company of country music icons, veteran comedians, famous actors, Reality TV stars, dancers from Dancing With The Stars, and America Idol castoffs – each showing me the significance of positioning yourself as a celebrity in the marketplace and the power of publicity. As a result I coach my clients how to get from 10 to 50 percent more media coverage.
Being on TV is cool, not having the systems in place
to capture leads or make sales – not so cool.

In addition, the years spent as a full-time entrepreneur allow me to “get” my clients when their well-meaning family members and friends innocently suggest that they “go back to work until they can get back on their feet…” As an enlightened entrepreneur I support my clients in shifting how they think, act, and approach their businesses and lives by honoring where they are while bridging the gap to where they want to be.
It’s far more fun to fantasize about what it would
be like to work in your business than the actual effort
required to work on your business.
